Assertion Violation Error

Hi all,

below is the code for Mutual Exclusion Problem.

#define N 2
bool  choosing[N] = false;
byte    num[N]=0;
byte mycolor[N]
byte nr_pro;
bit color;
active [N] proctype P() {
byte max, j, i;
again:
do
::
choosing[_pid] = true;
mycolor[_pid]= color;

max = 0;
    i = 0;
    do
    :: i > N-1 ->break
::else -> if :: max < num[i] -> max = num[i]
:: else ->break
             fi;
i= i+1;
	od;

num[_pid] = 1 + max;
mycolor[_pid]= mycolor[i];

choosing[_pid] = false;
    j = 0;
    do
    :: j > N-1 -> break
    :: else ->
if
	:: j != _pid ->
	choosing[j] ==false
if
	  ::mycolor[_pid] == mycolor[j] ->
(num[j] == 0) || (num[_pid] < num[j]) ||
(mycolor[_pid] != mycolor[j])
::else -> (num[j]==0) || (mycolor[_pid] != color) || (mycolor[j] == mycolor[_pid])
fi;
			:: else ->break
			fi;
			j= j+1
		od;
    nr_pro++;
CS: assert (nr_pro == 1);
    nr_pro--;
if :: mycolor[_pid] == false -> color= true;
::else-> color=false;
fi;
num[_pid] = false;
od;
 goto again
}

above code works fine without assertion command. However, I am getting an error of assertion violation (line 47) during simulation.
Can someone help me in removing this error? smile

Re: Assertion Violation Error

use the counter-example to determine the cause
and then fix it
to generate and display a counter-example, you can do this:

spin -run filename.pml
spin -t -p -v -l -g filename.pml
